# Turkish Aerospace Industries ANKA – Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance UAV
The ANKA from Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) is a medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed for reconnaissance, surveillance, and intelligence gathering missions. Engineered for a wide range of operational environments, the ANKA offers a versatile and proven platform for military and civilian applications.
The ANKA is capable of operating at altitudes of up to 30,000 feet (9,144 meters), enabling extensive area coverage and enhanced surveillance capabilities.
With a flight endurance of up to 30 hours, the ANKA can conduct prolonged missions without the need for frequent recovery or maintenance, making it ideal for continuous monitoring tasks.
The UAV supports a range of modular payloads, including advanced electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors (such as ASELSAN CATS), synthetic aperture radar (SAR), signals intelligence (SIGINT) equipment, and various munitions like the Roketsan MAM series.
The ANKA-S variant is equipped with a high-power SATCOM antenna, providing beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) control and extending its operational range significantly beyond its initial 200 km limit.
Equipped with advanced avionics, the ANKA supports fully autonomous operation, including automatic take-off and landing systems, pre-programmed flight paths, and emergency capabilities like 'return home and land'.
The ANKA has accumulated over 400,000 flight hours and has been integrated into the inventories of various end-users, demonstrating its reliability and effectiveness in real-world operations.
