Lockheed Martin S-70UAS U-Hawk – Autonomous Heavy-Lift Utility UAS
Lockheed Martin introduces the S-70UAS U-Hawk, a transformational autonomous UAS developed by Sikorsky in just 10 months by converting a UH-60L Black Hawk® airframe. Designed for high-demand logistics and long-range missions, the U-Hawk delivers 25% more internal cargo volume compared to a standard Black Hawk and features forward loading capabilities for oversized payloads. Equipped with MATRIX™ autonomy and fly-by-wire controls, the aircraft can be commanded entirely via a single tablet—from engine start to shutdown—streamlining mission operations and reducing crew workload.
At the press of a button, dual clamshell doors open as a rear ramp lowers, enabling quick cargo loading or drive-on vehicle access. The automated sequence reverses to prepare for takeoff. Once cargo is secured, an operator inputs mission objectives, and the MATRIX system generates an optimized flight plan using onboard cameras, sensors, and advanced algorithms to navigate safely and autonomously. With extended range, high lift capacity, and high commonality with the UH-60 fleet, the U-Hawk is engineered for reliable, flexible, and scalable autonomous logistics.
