XSun SolarXOne – Solar Energy Autonomous UAV for Survey, Monitoring & Security
The SolarXOne by XSun is a high-endurance, solar-electric fixed-wing UAV designed for long-range surveying, monitoring, and security operations. Combining efficient aerodynamics, reliable safety systems, and multi-payload flexibility, it allows continuous airborne operations for up to half a day and even night flight under battery power.
SolarXOne achieves up to 12 hours flight time, and can cover ~600 km in favourable conditions. Night operation is supported via battery power.
Capable of carrying up to 5 kg of payload (~200 W), SolarXOne supports a variety of sensors such as high-resolution RGB cameras, thermal/infrared sensors, LiDAR, or multi-axis gimbals for day/night ISR applications.
Its energy system combines solar panels integrated into multiple wings and dual battery packs, enabling flight during daylight with solar recharge and battery-only operation during the night. Entirely electric, it produces zero CO₂ emissions in flight.
Equipped with safety features like ADS-B, flight termination system (FTS) with parachute, redundant motors, composite structure, and certified with DAL-B, compliant with SORA and other regulatory frameworks. Low noise (< 42dB @200m).
Supports Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operation via secure communications: satellite, cellular, and radio. Can be mission-ready in ~30 minutes, wingspan under 5 m, transportable in a van. Low speed take-off/landing and adaptable cruise speeds make it apt for varied terrain.
