# General Atomics Mojave STOL – Expeditionary Short Takeoff and Landing UAV
Mojave STOL is a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) developed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc., designed for ground troop support and armed reconnaissance missions in expeditionary environments. It leverages proven technology from the MQ-9A Reaper and MQ-1C Gray Eagle ER systems, utilizing an open architecture design for modularity and rapid adaptability.
Mojave's exceptional STOL performance allows it to operate from remote, semi-improved surfaces like highways, desert plains, and island beaches. It has also demonstrated the ability to take off and land from aircraft carriers, supporting naval missions and sea-based operations.
The UAV can carry up to 3,600 lb (1,633 kg) of payload, including up to 16 AGM-114 Hellfire missiles or other equivalent munitions. Its advanced sensor suite includes high-definition EO/IR, Synthetic Aperture Radar/Ground Moving Target Indicator (SAR/GMTI), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), and Electronic Intelligence (ELINT).
Mojave offers a maximum endurance of over 25 hours in a low-payload ISR configuration. Its 2,500 nautical mile (4,630 km) ferry range allows for extensive operational reach.
Mojave is transportable by a C-130 and can be rapidly deployed and assembled by a small team. Its carrier-landing capability further extends its operational flexibility for both land and maritime domains.
The system combines proven powerplant technology, avionics, and flight controls from its Predator series heritage, offering high reliability in demanding conditions.
