# STM Defense BOYGA – Rotary-Wing Munitions Dropping UAV System
The BOYGA is a combat-proven rotary-wing unmanned aerial vehicle developed by STM Defense for precision delivery of 81mm mortar ammunition. Designed for vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL), BOYGA combines low radar cross-section design with robust autonomy to perform day and night missions in contested environments.
BOYGA integrates an ammunition release mechanism compatible with 81mm mortar rounds, enabling precision strikes guided via a Ground Control Station. Its advanced ballistic estimation algorithm and high-reliability fuze design support accurate delivery from high altitudes. The platform supports autonomous operations in GNSS-denied environments using KERKES technology and a CRPA antenna to resist GPS jamming.
Equipped with a 2-axis gimbal housing electro-optical and thermal imaging sensors, BOYGA provides HD (720p) video with 10× optical zoom for target acquisition and battle damage assessment. Precision landing sensors and emergency return-home functions increase mission safety and resilience.
BOYGA offers approximately 35 minutes of flight endurance per mission load, a practical operational range up to 6.5 km, and a maximum takeoff weight near 17 kg. It is rated for temperatures from -20°C to +50°C and qualified to MIL-STD-810G for military environmental conditions. Quick installation (<1.5 minutes), mobile ground control, and compact dimensions make BOYGA easy to deploy and operate. It supports day and night operations seamlessly.
