Schiebel to Set Up Dedicated United Kingdom Entity and Expand Defence Operations

BySchiebel

Schiebel Group has announced plans to establish a dedicated UK legal entity to capitalize on expanding opportunities in the British defence market.

Schiebel Group is preparing to launch Schiebel UK, a new subsidiary focused on strengthening its position in the UK defence market. The move builds on the successful delivery of the Peregrine rotary-wing uncrewed aerial system developed in collaboration with Thales UK. The Peregrine system is already in service with the Royal Navy, providing persistent intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance in demanding operational environments, with further capability expansion planned.

According to Hans Georg Schiebel, Chairman of the Schiebel Group,

“The United Kingdom is a strategically important market for Schiebel. The operational success of Peregrine with the Royal Navy demonstrates the maturity and reliability of our technology. By establishing Schiebel UK, we are reinforcing our long-term commitment to supporting UK defence requirements with proven, adaptable and future-ready uncrewed capability.”

The initiative follows strong performance in maritime ISR and targets growth in land and joint-domain programs, including the UK Land Autonomous Collaborative Platforms (ACP) programme. Schiebel plans to introduce the larger to the UK, which enhances the S-100 with greater endurance and payload for extended-range ISR and collaborative missions.

Schiebel UK will enable in-country manufacturing, assembly, and rapid upgrades, fostering closer ties to national programs while aligning with UK goals for industrial participation and sovereign capabilities. The partnership with Thales UK—leveraging Thales' integration and sensor expertise alongside Schiebel's rotary-wing UAS leadership—positions the company for scalable support across maritime, land, and multi-domain operations.

This expansion draws on Schiebel's global expertise in reliable, versatile uncrewed systems, ensuring the UK benefits from mature technology tailored to evolving defence needs.
