Advanced small UAV series offering long-endurance, all-environment performance, and multi-mission ISR capabilities for land and maritime operations.
Key Specifications
RQ-20 Puma Series: Long-Endurance Tactical ISR UAV
The RQ-20 Puma family, comprising Puma AE, Puma LE, and Puma 3 AE, is a class of small unmanned aircraft systems (SUAS) developed by AeroVironment for tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. Renowned for its endurance and reliability, the Puma series delivers real-time situational awareness in the most demanding environments.
Designed for versatility, the Puma family supports multi-mission payloads, including advanced electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors, Mantis i45 gimbaled payloads, and laser illuminators. These payloads enable operators to conduct day and night operations with precision and clarity. The all-environment design ensures dependable performance in challenging conditions, from harsh deserts to maritime environments, making the system highly adaptable for military and commercial use.
With endurance of up to 6.5 hours (Puma LE) and a wingspan of 2.8 meters, the Puma provides extended operational range and persistent surveillance. It employs a digital data link for secure communications over long distances. The aircraft is hand-launched for rapid deployment and recovered using a deep-stall landing, eliminating the need for complex infrastructure.
